With Sthl, Oliver Selim Boualam has succeeded in maximally minimizing a seating aid. We are all familiar with the habit of leaning or sitting on balustrades and railings, bicycle handlebars or the backs of chairs. However, design history hardly features any examples that recognize these ascetic forms of improvised sitting as an approach to furniture design. With Sthl, Boualam has achieved exactly that. His Sthl is certainly NOT a chair, but it is the ideal support for the user's at least short-term sitting experience. And that is very often more than enough already. There are a lot of places you can only stand for a short time anyway.
