An air mattress, as its name says, is an air-filled, rectangular, bedlike resting place. This is the context we are familiar with and it is consequently clear to all of us where, when and how this air cushion is used. It is laid flat on the ground, floats on the water surface or serves as a spare bed for unannounced visitors. The decision to use it outside, however, depends on one vital condition: good weather. This is exactly where Daniel Wandres idea comes into play: his air mattress has definitely not been designed as a flat surface to lie on, but rather as a tube, offering protection and shelter regardless of the weather.
