Serial production of even marginally different individual pieces takes a certain degree of effort, and often requires complicated computer programming linked to, for example, a CNC-process. The production of the Lu_C lamps designed by Tina Schmid does not require such technology. The different kinds of texture of the fabric structure occur by sheer chance, since they are exclusively based on the structure of the carbon fabric and its reaction to the hydraulic forming method applied here. And this method, at least with regard to the crisscross of the fibers, is unpredictable.
